TITLE & AUTHORSHIP

The title should be short, specific and informative. The first name, middle name intial(s), and surname of each author should be followed by their occupation, department, institution, and country. An example of this would be:

Rea K. Gill

PhD Student, School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences, University of Reading, UK.

If there are multiple authors, the corresponding author should be indicated by an asterisk (*) after their name. For the purposes of communication with the journal staff, only one author may be designated as the corresponding author. If desired, a short description of each author’s background and research interests can be provided, in italic text, after the main article text.

ABSTRACT

Directly underneath the title and author details should be the abstract, which must not exceed 250 words. The abstract should be comprehensible to readers before they have read the paper, and reference citations must be avoided. It is essential that the abstract clearly summarises the focus and importance of the work in the paper. The abstract must be followed by 5 keywords relating to the submission.

Please note an abstract is only required for work submitted to the ‘articles’ section of Sentio Journal. An abstract is not required for work submitted to the ‘features’ or ‘reflections’ sections. However, 5 keywords must be included for all submission types.

MAIN TEXT

Sentio uses Oxford English spelling conventions (i.e., –ize endings). The use of subheadings is both permitted and recommended. Authors should make an effort to ensure their work is clearly written with a non-specialist audience in mind. Sentio is committed to increasing the accessibility of research.

LANGUAGE EDITING

Particularly if English is not your first language, before submitting your manuscript you may wish to have it edited for language clarity. This is not a mandatory step, but may help to ensure that the content of your paper is fully understood by journal editors, reviewers, and the readers. Language editing does not guarantee that your manuscript will be accepted for publication. Authors are liable for all costs associated with such services.
